Everyone (Matson/Fries)was going to get nice credit in a great write-up and
press release. Sadly the information was released because someone wanted to
make some money real fast. So the short a announcement typed in the field is
lacking many pertinent facts.

Congrats on the new fall!
Looks like a lovely specimen. Attractive slices...
Give me a moment while I contact my bank and get a line of credit so I can buy
a 4g slice of an L6... ;-)
Cheers,

Thanks for sharing, Ruben! I must have been asleep, how did I miss a
California fall and subsequent recovery efforts?! Great looking
slices.

Robert Ward is in the field in California, and asked me to pass this along
to the list! He recovered the first stone from the fall, and is continuing
his expedition.
Make sure to click the link below to see the story, along with photos from
Robert on his Website, robertwardmeteorites.com...
Congrats to Robert Ward for his persistence and diligence in researching this
fall.
It was well-earned and deserving that he should make the first find.
The only thing that I can add to this thread is that (over on facebook) Marc
Fries has given credit
to Rob Matson for doing the
Excellent work Robert and Ann Marie! Yet another witnessed California fall that
Robert was first on, incredible!!!

Hi all,
I made this post just before heading into a meeting with a major
university - Yes, they also acquired two slices of this fantastic
meteorite.
I will respond to individual emails as soon as possible.
There's only a few slices left and there is a chance that if one or
two don't sell
Hi List
I would like to offer the following pieces for sale. No trades
(except I would be interested in a 25g+ individual Martian).
Offers welcome!
If pieces are sold their photos will be removed from the album.
Dhofar 700 (Diogenite) - Hupe - 3.7g - $40
Monze (L6) - Marcin Cimala -
Hi Adam,
Just one more thing. You mentioned that @ $300 per gram Creston is
worth 10 times the price of gold.
Done, I will buy all your gold for $30 per gram. No kidding, here's
a chance to make a very large sale. I'll bet other gold collectors
would also.
Please call me privately and we can
Gold collectors are paying only $30.00/gram for gold since we are talking
about natural gold, not bullion. Crystalline gold specimens go for twice
this amount.
I can sell it as quickly as it is produced since gold is very liquidable and
is in very high demand. I put a few samples on eBay
Are people actually paying (speculating) $300.00/gram for a possible L6?
This is ten times the price of gold! You might find a few buyers who do not
care about the price but they will be far and few between in this horrible
economy.
I would invest in a proven Martian fall like Zagami at this
Maybe I should dig out my meteorite and collectables inventories from deep
storage since it looks like the market has fully recovered and then some if
this new fall is a real indication.
Give me a break, $300.00/gram for an ordinary chondrite? The price has gone
up quicker than my health
Hi Adam,
So you wont sell me the gold at $30 per gram? Ok, then.. I'll
have to live with that.
As for Creston - the price of our material will NEVER be lowered. End of Story!

Hi List,

Hi Adam,
Simply put, it is the law of supply and demand.
I talked to Mike Farmer several times today, and he assured me that
even though they're having a good time that nothing from them will
ever be for sale - with the exception of the small fragment (part of
Wards Stone) he just found tonight.
If you want some of my gold, you can get a better price by bidding on it
like everybody else. I do have a one ounce world class crystalline 22k gold
nugget that showed up in my high banker a few months ago that is now in my
eBay store for a mere $2,295.00 if you are interested. A little know
Adam. There is plenty of parking for the mobile meteorite command center. The
strewnfield is large and endless roads and vineyards. Come on up. It's not far
from you. Far more money than gold.
I had 20 requests to buy the piece of found today. Sold in seconds. My market
is pretty good.
If it was within my budget I'd buy it just because it's from my home
state. There's more reasons than a classification to want a
meteorite.

I appreciate the invite but the original Mobile Meteorite Command Center
lasted one season before being retired six years ago. It seemed like a good
idea at the time but real life field conditions proved otherwise. The 120
degree temperatures out here in the desert were causing panels to
