Hi Kevin,
Thanks for the link. Some absolutely wonderful meteorites there and great
photos! While I didn't check every price,
I looked at a bunch of them and thought most were on the high to very high
side. A 304.5g Sikhote for $13,750 (before premium?). It's a pretty piece.
granted, but $45/g is
While we're talking fraud, this seller and copycats have been selling river
rocks as "ataxite" meteorites on eBay for months. Hundreds of them!

I think Bernd's correct - that would be El Hammami.

Hi everyone,
I can't remember the person who set up a subscription service to be
notified about falls. Can someone help me out with a contact?
Thanks!

In my mind, it all began with "prioritize". Now a very common word but
I still choose not to use it.

Hi Thomas and Marco,
Maybe you already know, but the story circulating now is that the police
determined it was a dynamite explosion caused by a small fire. Please see
my blog on the topic (go to the update at the end of the blog) at:
Peter,
I think MikeG. wrote a very kind reply trying to help you out. And
he's correct, there are no granite meteorites. You would do well to
follow his advice. My own opinion is that you have some low resolution
photos of rusty rocks which I'm doubtful are meteorites. You'll need
to shoot higher
Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who sent me links or pages
from your journals for the article on keeping an astronomy journal. I
wasn't able to use all of them but I hope you'll enjoy the selection.
You'll find the story here: http://bit.ly/1BqC5yt

Hi everyone,
I'm writing up a little article for skyandtelescope online about
keeping an astronomy journal of observations and sketches and would
love to hear if you keep one and how it's been useful to you. I've
kept a journal myself for years, and while I can't draw a human face
to save my life,
E.P.,
Interesting stuff but I believe he's a bit off by calling the huge
Hoba iron-nickel meteorite (and other Hoba-like material he believes
is nearby) fragments from a comet. This stuff comes from asteroids.
Thanks,
Bob

Michael,
I agree. No reference citing how they determined it was a meteorite. I
can't find anything else online about it.
