I have this model saw and it is a fine machine in my little cutting
room. However, Buehler no longer supports these older machines and
one might struggle finding replacement parts for them if needed.

Buehler Isomets are great saws if you can get your hands on one that has been
well taken care of. I have owned several of them. Be prepared to spend
$300.00 plus for the low-speed blades. $1,100.00 is an excellent price
considering they cost over $5,000.00 new provided everything is working

Holy cow, why is it so expensive? Is this some kind of special saw
used to make thin-sections? Or, am I missing something?

Actually that is a good price for that particular model. It is listed
elsewhere for $2,250. I assume that's because it is a precision diamond saw
and is capable of making very thin sections, but probably not as thin as we
would like. Here is a link to another...
