Hello All,
I believe Occum's Razor would suggest that any C14 spikes associated
with impacts are more likely from enrichment while the asteroid is in
orbit.
As was mentioned previously, the C14 enriched region is concentrated at
the asteroid's exterior which in turn is the material shed into
Hi Elton, all -
Another contender to explain the C14 spikes.
That can be added to the existing four:
1)hole in upper atmosphere,
2)interuption of ocean currents,
3)coincident incresase in extra-solar neutrons, and
4)neutron release in impact process.
For the comets, I could see how there
Hi all -
I'm sorrry, but with my stroke damage I can't do the
maths on this anymore, but I can help to define the
problem space here.
The first step is to take the INTCAL98 calibration
chart and try to figure out how much C14 was actually
produced by the Canyon Diablo impactor.
Does Canyon
