Howdy all
There was a noontime bolide over eastern Maine this past Saturday which
produced a meteorite fall. There was only one NEXRAD radar in range of this
event but it appears in four radar sweeps, complete with short-range turbulence
from falling rocks. Details can be found here:
Greetings all
Radar, GLM, eyewitness, and other data indicate a voluminous new
meteorite fall outside of McAllen, TX yesterday afternoon. I will post images
and a strewn field map ASAP on the ARES Meteorite Falls web page.

I'll put it on my list of recent falls, but I guess I should hold my
breath for any recoveries. Maybe if some cartel members are reading
this, they will send me a specimen without any severed heads or
fingers attached. ;)
Good luck in Russia Mike.

Some of the photos look like a possible meteorite, but many of the

Aid,
These look like nice meteorites and I don't doubt that these are
genuine. I do find it hard to believe that the small craters were
formed from these stones. The craters look dug and appear too large and
deep for the little rocks your are displaying.
Am I missing something?

Hi Larry and All,
Cool thing about the image in question is that there are two well
formed footprints on the comet nucleus. Affectionately known as "right
foot" and "left foot", they are easily visible in the higher

Sounds fishy to me. It's got some pretty serious heat capacity to
require such cooling time at only 900g.
Also, the site's picture of a meteorite is actually a composite image
of the nucleus of Comet Wild 2, the one from which Stardust captured
particles.
