I must say I have never noticed smells from meteorites
but this week I have run an exhibition which included
several large meteorite samples.
What I estimate to be over a third of the people who
saw and handled them -and there were several hundred
people involved - said they did smell funny.
Yes I can attest to the Murchison meteorite odour.
Last month while visiting Dermot Henry at the
Melbourne Museum I had the privilege to go down into
the dungeons to see some of the museum's meteorite
collection.
I was particularly interested in the Murch and when he
opened the cupboard
