It doesn't actually say it's a meteorite.
No, it doesn't say it's ANYTHING. But when it's "guaranteed to be authentic", and the only specific substance mentioned anywhere is "meteorite".and that's in the title.what is the novice buyer supposed to infer?
Why would any

I have heard that magnets can cause iron to oxidize quicker. Is there any truth in that? I am asking because I want to know how safe the magnetic display bases are for specimens as I am thinking about getting some. Any pros or cons?

Which IMCA member is putting this oddball chunk o' rock up for sale? There
have been instances in the past where logos (Square Trade comes to mind)
have been hijacked to lend authenticity where none exists. Maybe some
enterprising seller did that to the IMCA logo, and we should make sure the

Thanks,
Hello all,
Take 3 deep breaths everybody...
This Jackstaw guy, also known as Derik Bowers, has been buying and selling
real meteorites for a couple years now. I've bought a couple pieces from him
myself.
I've seen this native iron for sale from him many times before. I never
thought he was
I have to agree, I looked at the auction, NOWHERE does it say that it is a
meteorite. It describes the material accurately, and says that it looks like
a meteorite. It is up to the bidder to decide if they want to buy that

It is not the job of the IMCA to keep anyone from
Hello Mike, John and list, I think he should of made it a little more clear
that it is not a meteorite. To me he was kind of vague!

Hi List,
I have wondered if the magnetic holders are a good idea or not. I don't like or permit
people to put magnets on my for sale specimens because some researchers do magnetic
field tests on specimens (these are very very mild fields that show orientation of the
specimen). I don't know of all

Dear list,
I agree with John that this is not a case of an IMCA member trying to
sell a meteorwrong as a meteorite. He calls it an iron rock and
meteorite-looking, and if I were a bidder I would not believe I was
bidding on a meteorite,

Hello members,
There is a brand new page on my site. No, it is not about new meteorites (I am still waiting on 2 of them) but it is about VCI products.

Hi List,
I recently purchased a case of Cortec VCI-101 emitters, but I don't have a use for all

actual cost.
