Hello list,
As Aziz and Nelson have already told you the Benguerir meteorite is an LL6
ordinary chondrite.
Hasnaa Chennaoui Aoudjehane has declared this fall to the NomCom at the

This beautiful meteorite is very different from the two latest LL6 falls,

Hi Tracy, Jeff and List,
I bought two specimens from Mike - one is an olivine crystal (how
beautiful) and a fragment. Both display almost opal-type translucency from
the olivine crystals. One crystal is just beneath the surface and is
mesmerizing.
Thanks Mike.
Happy Holidays all,
Greg
Thanks Rob!
I owe you one :-)

Is Mike Farmer going to write a book about his meteorite adventures? I

Aloha, Jeff!
Often you will see on quartz crystals with internal fractures that the
fracture has turned into a kind of prism, and light refracting through the
split makes the crystal appear to have a rainbow along the cleavage. Maybe
the olivine crystals that are rainbowed have the same thing

Although different in technical detail, it is an
optical phenomenon very similar to the fire in

Hello List, I am done playing around with etching art! But, this CD turned
out to look like art! I learned a thing or two about etching with all my
trials errors the last month and tried it on this piece. No etched
pictures, just on nice Canyon Diablo! I like it anyways! : )
Hi Tom,
a fine decent etch. Good work and a remarkable piece as it has especially
much cohenite!
Well done!

What kind of equipment would I need to cut meteorites? I don't want to do
anything large scale,
just slice open a few NWA individuals. Can I do it without making a large
investment in hardware?
