You could easily melt aluminium in a fire, it melts at about 660 degrees
celsius. I've seen blobs like this after a small cabin with aluminium
roof burned down.
You don't tell us the size of it but I can't believe it is residues from
the space shuttle SRB:s as someone else suggested. The

Hi Thaddeus,
I just returned from both trips. I had the opportunity to hunt and
watch Steve and Geoff recover the two large Brenham meteorites. When
the show airs you will see some of the work that it took to locate and
recover the Brenham meteorites. Every Brenham meteorite is Gps'd,

Hi, Kevin,
They're molten blobs. I assume they're aluminum from
the title of your post. Tektites either show high velocity
aerodynamic sculpture or are layered. These are just
blobs. Not knowing the circumstances of their finding doesn't
help but blobs of melted aluminum could result from any

Hi, Kevin,
Now that you tell me that they are composed of

Not me and certainly not my idea of fun.
I fully support the responsible recovery of meteorites which, if left
rotting in the ground, would someday disappear to the benefit of no one.
