In concert with Bob Walker - of Queensland, and the person who takes the thin
section images for him, I figured that, a series of images of a thin section
could be stitched together using GigaPan, and presented for your enjoyment.
These two are the first attempts, and are using the

Hello list,
A short email to warn you to be very careful with the seller Mezgouri Fayssal.
It just seem honest but me and some meteorite frinds had serious problems with
him in the past, are still waiting to be solve...
Some of you have maybe had good relation with him in the past, but you
Hi List,
I am writing an article about NWA meteorites for a non-profit
publication, and I need one or two photos for illustrative purposes.
I need a generic landscape photo of the Saharan Desert and a photo of
a Moroccan marketplace where meteorites might be sold or were sold in
the past. The

Hmmm, that meteorites would be sold on marketplaces,
that I read only in the high-quality and best researched articles by BBC
;-)
It's because of the ambiguity of the word market, I guess.
Would make also not so much sense,
I mean, people going in the marketplace to buy their foods and goods of

Hi Martin and List,
Yes, I use the term market very loosely in relation to meteorites.
Although I will take 20 kilos of the stuff in the blue barrels! ;)
I've never been to that region of the world, so I am using second-hand
accounts from those who have. I picture some small house or shop, off
Hello All,
I think the bw photo on page 12 of the Meteorite magazine
(Feb 2003, vol. 9, no.1) is pretty close to the real thing:

Yes, it is scary that this guy has access to a very expensive R.O.V.
I had an old man who was terminally ill send me some metal pieces that he
claimed came from a troubled donut-shaped flying saucer that ejected molten
metal over Vashion Island and on a fishing vessel in Washington State. He
Hi Folks,
I found the photos I needed on a royalty-free stock photo website.
Thanks to those who contacted me with helpful suggestions. :)

Hi Folks,
Please excuse my second bothersome request for photos. I need a photo
that is going to be very difficult or impossible to find on the free
stock photo websites.
I'd like permission to use a photo of the Tucson show, preferably a
big table full of meteorites belonging to a Moroccan
Hi,
This is a long-evolved and complicated piece of the UFO
folklore. You appear to be referring to Vashon Island
(not Vashion), now referred to as the Maury Island
incident:

You will note reports of rock-like slag being dropped
and thin sheets
Hi Adam and List,
Just for kicks and giggles, you should have those blobs analyzed, to
put the story to rest once and for all. 99.9% probability the story
and blobs will be debunked. And if they turn out to be something
weird and anomalous, then you have some free publicity on your hands.
Hi Sterling,
You are right, it is spelled Vashon. Maury island is actually attached to
Vashon Island and is more of a peninsula than a real island. It is a ten
minute
ferry ride from where I used to live on the Puget Sound across from Point
Defiance. I do not recall the old man's name but
Guess I won't be buying that waterfront property on the Gulf now that it is
infested by the bugs oozing from the perforations on the alien 'meteorite'!

Good on ya.. Ted!
Bob has been talking about this for quite awhile. He wasn't exaggerating about
how super the images are...and will only be sharper as you perfect the process.
I notice on the 59099 image that in the upper right hand corner there is a
large black inclusion that sports some

Just had a look at both the xpol and regular light. I think what we have there
is - first of all, an area with no material except the adhesive used to adhere
the rock to the slide - And, within that area, some bubbles in the adhesive.
Now - in the xpol image, the
