"Multipath"
The wave takes multiple paths to reach the detector (your ear,
microphone, etc), some longer, some shorter.
Shock waves are spherically radiating from a central point in a detonation. In
the meteor case, it is radiating from a moving point along a line.
You hear smaller shock waves after the main bang because of the larger distance
between you and the rest of the meteor path. Those sounds come late
Agreed. Video #7 is a misrepresentation. I apologize for including it. :)
A member of a different forum has analyzed some videos and converted
them into animated gifs that show the fragmentation bodies inside the
bolide trail. I have asked him to post them to this List.

I agree with Mike, That first video on part two is fake. It's really
obvious to me.
One of the main interests to me about this event is the artillery
sounding "reports" after the main explosion. They go on and on. What
causes those? Are those sounds pieces breaking up/exploding after the

The first one is not Chebarkul. Not sure what it is. Perhaps a close up of a
cruise missile test, or rocket launch?

Hi Mike and List,
My first thought when I saw it was : wow, this is unique, because none
of the other videos show the bolide up close like that. Now it
appears there was a good reason this video didn't match the others -
because it's not the same event.
Thanks for the heads-up.
Best regards,

yes, note how many seconds it is going, the realtime videos show the entire
even lasting just a few seconds total, this one shows the thing slowly moving,
putting out plumes of smoke behind it.
no way that is a real video,

Hi Mike,
Are you referring to video #7? (the first one in the "Part Two" post)
If so, I take your word on it - you are far more experienced at this than I.
Can anyone else comment on this one? Is it indeed a fake or the wrong
event? If so, please chime in so I can strike it from the list.

That first video is fake, or not the meteorite video, it is extremely slow
moving and does not look at all like any of the others,

Hi Bob and List,
Here are two more worth a look -
Chebarkul Video #7 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqClUPJQJMU
This video is quite rare amongst the ones I have seen. While many
show the bolide as it streaks across the sky, or show the bolide trail
after passage, this video shows close-ups of
