Hi all,
I just purchased a new 8 kilo iron meteorite found near Licking,
Missouri. I wasn't going to say much just yet but since someone
already posted it on FB I figured I'd just post it here too.
On Monday, Dr Laurence Garvie (ASU) will begin classification work on
this medium octahedrite
Hi all, I have a question about differentiated asteroids and stony-iron
meteorites.
We know that the iron meteorites was originated from the core and the
achondrite from the crust ... and from the mantle? The stony-iron
meteorites, right?
So my question is ... wich class of stony-iron meteorite
Hi Paul -
Thanks for the link to that paper.
I am looking forward to your comments on the Kiscoty structure.
My guess is that the depth of the ice sheet may be estimated from the height of

Just curious List...I have seen a few web sites of Dealers stating that they
buy meteorite and or meteorite collections. I guess my question is do they
really buy entire meteorite collections? I have conferred with a few Dealers
a few years back who have posted on their web sites that they do,
Hello Listers and Don
From my understanding there are few dealers that will buy whole
collections, it depends on the price and what you have. Now if your
looking to sell fast that's the best way to go, but your going to loose
a lot in what you paid on your collection. Lets say you spent 100,000
Hi Don,
I know several dealers that purchase meteorite collections.
Personally, I have purchased one or two within the last year and am
always looking to buy more. However, remember that meteorites are not
selling as well as they did in the past, therefore, a dealer can't
overpay. If you have

Hmm... interesting topic.
I started out somewhat slowly, but soon went overboard with new
acquisitions. For me, anyway. I've begun to thin out my collection a bit,
but I'm certainly not ready to give it all up yet. Still, I need to strike a
reasonable balance. I want to retain a respectable

At this time, I lack any comments about the Kiscoty structure.
The problem is that the only material that I have been able to
find about is a newspaper
I have bought many collections. There is no right or wrong answer. Markets
change, prices rise or fall. Send me a list.
I've offered to buy back endless meteorites for even 10 times what I sold them
for. Of course that doesn't apply to most things but some it sure does.
