[meteorite-list] Many auctions of Aguas Zarcas slices carbonaceous chondrite ending this Sunday (99cents)

2019-08-25 Thread Raymond Borges via Meteorite-list
Greetings collectors,

Usually I do all my meteorite communication through social media platforms
like Facebook groups but I figured there are people I'm not reaching. The
recent meteorite fall in Costa Rica inspired me to attempt a little
expedition out there so me and my girlfriend Ily Fisher decided to try our
luck and we were very successful! so successful that we went back twice
managing to buy hundreds of grams and recover an impacted roof panel with
the impactor meteorite with green matching roof paint. Some of the stories
of our expeditions are here on our website
https://www.spacerocks.club/expeditions/aguas-zarcas and we are writing a
small booklet to further elaborate on more pictures and details of the trip.

We went to Ensisheim for the first time this year (as dealers to boot) and
mostly sold out and returned to CR once more after that. We are planning to
be at Denver in a room at Crowne Plaza: Denver Airport Convention Center.
Here is the link to our auctions: https://www.ebay.com/sch/spacerocks/m.html

[meteorite-list] Quaternary eolian sediments and Carolina Bays of the US Atlantic Coastal Plain province

2019-08-25 Thread Paul via Meteorite-list

Swezey, C.S., 2019. Quaternary eolian sediments and Carolina
Bays of the US Atlantic Coastal Plain province. In Thorleifson,
L. H., ed.,pp. 88-89, Geologic Mapping Forum 2019 Abstracts,
Minnesota Geological Survey Open File Report OFR-19-1,
Minnesota Geological Survey. Retrieved from the University
of Minnesota Digital Conservancy, http://hdl.handle.net/11299/202386.
https://pubs.er.usgs.gov/publication/70204687

"Likewise, on the basis of stratigraphic relations and OSL ages, the
Carolina Bays are interpreted as relict features that did not form
during one event of limited duration. Instead, they are thought to
have formed episodically during the same time interval as other
eolian sediments of the Atlantic Coastal Plain (e.g., mostly during
the LGM when conditions were colder, drier, and windier)."

Yours,

Paul H.

[meteorite-list] Ad-Meteorite auctions and Pulse Star 2 detector

2019-08-25 Thread Matt Morgan via Meteorite-list
Good morning
I have many meteorite options ending today including big transparent slice of
Springwater pallasite, new mars and lunars, Vinales, a 10 lb Gibeon and more.
As always I'll be happy to entertain offers away from eBay or on eBay if that's
your preference.

Also offered is my Pulse Star 2 metal detector that's out of this world for
finding deep meteorites. It's in almost new condition and I think you'll find
the price about half of what it retails for.

Thanks
Matt
