UCLA has classified it as an L4and also as an L5.
I searched the Met. Bulliten and NWA869 is not published. At least, I could
not find any reference in the last 4 bullitens.
Better yet, donate the stuff. It lasts a long

Tracy,
What inspired you to think of such a possibility? It would have been
wonderful (not too far fetched either) had a meteorite turned up in a shoe
box marked Scott Expedition Misc Stones and tucked in the bowels of the
British Natural History Museum.
Any luck getting an invite? A few
Guy,
I have purchased many poorly sawed meteorites. Most of these I have
successfully polished using emory paper on glass. It takes some muscle
power and patients but with very little cash outlay you can get very
professional results.

Bernhard,
This looks more like a carbon. If I were a betting man I would bet on a
carbon xenolith and not some impact melt .
It may be large enough to test. Someone else on the list may know of an
easy way to determine if this is carbon.

Proud Tom for President!
This statement is coming from a Canadian (we don't have Presidents) so I
will let all who read this interpret it for themselves. I won't. ;)

Adam and Greg,
Congratulations on the beautiful meteorite. Gorgeous!
The features you describe are interesting but don't show well in your image.
Under 10x magnification the matrix from the Bilanga diogenite looks very
similar to your second image.

All and no one in particular,

the list to attack others and it is disgraceful.
I wonder how many other people have dropped out because of this
Steve,
