Most of these pieces are freshly cut from the saw and will require
additional finishing.

your final decision to purchase it.

Derek has authorized me to reduce the price of the remaining two large
Sikhote Alin end cuts by 10% which works out to $2.69 per gram
If these don’t sell in a couple days I will re-process them to create
lighter pieces that hopefully will be easier to sell
That would be a shame because it is
I decided to repair one of the 2 pentagon shaped slices that separated
during the cutting process
I wasn’t to hard to repair and it looks fantastic with a polish.

I received my 2.4 kilo NWA 8529 H-6 Chondrite yesterday and processed it
into my sphere rough today.
The good, it was quite fragmented but I was able to find the most solid area
to cut my rough from.
The bad, the cube does have some cracks and I hope Dmitry can stabilize it
before he makes
Sorry, I didn’t know that was a rule

All 3 Sikhote Alin end cuts with their initial etch, the one in the center
is 3.5" wide to give you an idea of the size of these
I have used both nitol and ferric chloride in the past to etch SA, but my
FC won’t be here till Monday.
Once I have that I will heat these up and do a quick wash
CORRECTION – The title should have stated that this is etched, not polished

This is interesting end cut that is etched on 5 surfaces
It displays well from any angle and it is approximately 2.95” wide by 2.90”
tall and the base is 1.24” wide at the bottom and tapers to the top
It weigh 261 grams and the etch looks a lot better in person, it is very
hard to capture

Thank you the links to the online catalog. There was some amazing items

I was intrigued by the value of the spheres they had listed, based on that,
I must have a world class collection ;)

A fellow list member Derek sent me a 2504 gram end cut of Sikhote Alin to
process into end cuts, slices and a rough for my 50mm sphere
With my current work schedule it took about 5 days making one cut per day.
Here are some pics of the processed material
These are nice slices that are approximately 5mm thick.
To give you an idea of the sizes the top right slice is apx 3.125” wide
I have polished them up to 800
These will be shipped on vacuum sealed backer boards with provenance cards
Message me if you are interested
I went through my drawers and decided it's time to get rid of the "scraps"

A while back someone sent me a very dense solid tan-ish white impact melt
sample.
I would like to make it into a sphere but I need to know what it is first.
If you know impact melts and wouldn't mind taking a stab at it, please
contact me for pictures,.
I have more then I need for my sphere
I only process material to make spheres for my collection and I do not like
to have excess material on hand.
If you are interested in buying my remaining Bondoc Slices and End Cuts at
whole sale prices send me a message
I'm going to process the 2 large end cuts into slices this weekend so I
I would love to add Sikhot Alin Sphere to my collection but finding one that
I can afford and process has been impossible.
So I looking for a partner.
If you have a piece of SA shrapnel that has an area that is about 60mm thick
and would like to have it processed into end cuts and slices
Because the focus of my collection is spheres I will admit that I don’t really
know much about what other meteorite collectors like
I have started to process the smaller slices and end cuts of my Bondoc
Mesosiderite by soaking them in phosphoric acid and then I polish them up to

It has an interesting look.

I recently acquired a 1553 gram Bondoc B-4 Mesosiderite Meteorite Whole
Specimen to make a sphere rough for my collection

Due to the condition of these specimens I will offer them at $3 per gram.

Bondoc Mesosiderite-B4 Meteorite – The Good & the Bad
I received my Bondoc whole specimen yesterday and I processed it into my sphere
rough cube today.
The GOOD – Very easy to cut
The BAD – not a lot of visible metal
Here is a picture of the whole specimen
I looked but can seem to find this specific info so I hope someone on here can
help.
I know the basic formula for Nitol etching solution is 90% alcohol and 10%
nitric acid.
BUT what are the strengths is this formula based on?
For instance, you can readily buy 70% and 90% alcohol at any store
This seems legit but can anyone confirm it for me:

Hello to everyone
I think the last time I posted was around 2014.
Been real busy with work and other things.
But I have been actively trying to grow my collection of 50mm Meteorite Spheres.
I am up to 20 and I may have finally found a Mesosiderite that is large enough
to produce another
I am at a point in my life where priorities have change and I wonder what I
will do with the things I have collected over the years.
My 50 millimeter sphere collection has a special place in my heart but I
don't have the resources to grow my collection so I know at some point I may
want to
I would like to add Sikhote Alin to my collection of 50mm spheres.
BUT it has been difficult to find a suitable specimen
If you have a large piece of this meteorite or any other from the Coarsest
classification, and if you would like to have it cut into slices / end cuts
please send an email
I decided to sell the individual slices and end cuts from the Dhofar 1724
H-4 main mass that I bought to create my 50mm sphere.
I am selling them for 75 cents per gram
They have been polished up to 800 grit
You can view this auction to see a list of what I have, bear in mind that
they are
I purchased the 1.7kg main mass of Dhofar 1724 from Art Met Meteorites to
create a 50mm sphere for my collection.

I wanted to polish and sell the left over material but I don't have the time
so I will whole sale the
