Hello list,
depending of microscope exposures most people think about thin section. They
show nice colors and sometimes special structures well used for petrogaphic
studies.
But there is an other possibility to study the micro structure of minerals, -
the use of a reflecting light microscope wit
(like
Sikhote Alin) contact the ground with temperatures above 500°C.
What I will say, the temperature depends on the landing speed. If it is the
normal velocity of fall of earth gravity the meteorite is cold, if it is
supersonic speed, it could be very hot.

oval/spheric-shape.

In my mind, nobody can give a true number of meteorite dealers.
Asume that we are talking only about professionals. Are they all meteorite
dealers? I think no! You can sell a meteorite only, if you have the sureness
that the piece is a meteorite. Otherwise you are a miner
that a lot of russian villages have changed their name.
