would go into Bob Haag's room at the Desert Inn during the Tucson Gem Show to
buy meteorites. That was a sight to behold. Bob had the entire room blacked out
like in outer space with directional lighting

I too started my meteorite journey in 1996. A few here may remember the late
Robert Szep who was a real character and who loved meteorites. I purchased a
nice El Hammami slice off him which is still in my collection. I think it was
just a few years later when I purchased a nice Allende
I started collecting meteorites in the 1980's. I also recall getting my 1st
Peekskill meteorite
about 3 weeks after it hit the car, so would of been in 1992.
