For Christ/creator of universe/natural quantum event, sake can we all
grow up!
This list is now about the tamest list iv'e ever seen, In many
internet lists/newsgroups death threats and swearing are the norm!
Whilst I don't enjoy all the personal attacks etc, they have toned down

There has been talk about starting a new meteorite list. One that will
be monitored to make sure that topics stay on meteorites, that offensive
posts will be removed and the offenders given time off or removed for
good. None of the past posts by Bernd and others have been taken
seriously
Hello Al and List,
I'm ok for a new meteorite list without personal
attacks which are, in my opinion, bad for the
meteorite community images.
Personal attacks as its name says should stay in
private.
We need a forum with various topics :
- Finds / falls
- Classification
Hello,
that´s a good idea.
I have my own webservers and if someone takes care about reading it, I would
give the space for it.
To many disucussions about Tom, gmail and all the other stuff even if
people just give a hint or try giving a help.
Maybe we could make a second list for personal

Hello,
In fact, I don't think we should delete messages like
personal attacks, Proud Tom, out of meteorites topics
because it's the freedom of speech. We should place
all of these in a out of subject topic that everyone
can read if he wants.

Hello
I agree, We need rules with teeth, ie a moderated list, either this one
or a new one!!
Mike Fowler
While I certainly agree that the flame wars etc. make this list
virtually a
joke, I do not think a new list would catch on to the point where it
would
replace this list. It has just been around
Hi Pelé Pierre-Marie and all,
I think that is a wonderful idea and have suggested something similar
myself. A moderator who inforces list rules is a must!

My experience with the *real* big ones in whatever (acting, creativity,
music) due to my RL job is that their fights and flaming occur just on a
higher level, not visible for the public. All in all, they are the same
bitching egos like evrybody else :-)
You are probably right, Bernhard, but
Jim Strope couldn't have said it any better. I spend a great deal of time
and effort on post daily pictures. More than some may think and all I see in
between is total BS, emails that should be sent in private off the list.
It's really not worth my time and effort to try to do something
Thats just what we need. A list that nurtures newbies in order to promote the
market. A place that they can be indoctrinated without diverse opinion. What a
steaming pile that would be. Moderated to the point of absolute boredom. Take
note of those that are jumping on this bandwagon!

I have wondered about that and I simply concluded that it's good common sense
to stay out of the frey to protect your investments.

Hi Jim and all,
I certainly agree with what you have to say and wish that the rules
would be honored for the most part (I doubt there will ever be a perfect
forum). In reality when list members have approached Art on this, it
seems to fall on deaf ears. Art could certainly appoint someone to

A list with big teeth and stodgy moderators may find itself with nothing to
chew.
