Meteorite shakes Australian region

SYDNEY, Australia: A meteorite hit the township of Broken Hill in far western New South Wales Saturday might causing earthquake-like vibrations throughout the area.
Hundreds of distressed residents called police saying they had seen a huge white bright light plummeting toward the ground.
A police spokeswoman said many people reported the walls in their homes shook when the meteorite hit.
Police were not sure of the exact location of the strike but scientists confirmed it was a meteorite.

While this article does not refer to the Broken Hill meteorite. The Broken Hill meteoite, and many other Australian meteorites were FINDS from that year. It is possible press from this event helped lead to some of these discoveries. (?)
