An obvious fake!
The last I checked Kapoeta was a Howardite, not an Ordinary Chondrite.
The crust and matrix are wrong. The presence of numerous chondrules
excludes it. Oxidation halos around metal and the lack of basalt clasts
indicate, even to a complete novice, that this specimen is bogus.
That was a really cool rock. We got it when portales fell. The guy called and
thought he might have one he had before long that. When we saw it we were

Highly agree with everyone's comments. Thank you Paul. Getting up to
start the day at 4am and knowing what work load I have ahead of me.
But I know when I turn my PC on, the MPOD will be waiting for me and
put a smile on my face and a positive attitude for the day
Cheers

in the field and at the frozen lake. This peace
A nice photo of this specimen in front of Mr. Kolbay's drawings of what he and
Mr. Rainer saw from near Eperies (today Prešov, Slovakia), ~ 92 km from the
Knyahinya strewnfield, as presented by W. R. v. Haidinger in 1866.
Thanks for sharing, Herbert!

Fascinating, thanks Anne for sharing.
My French is really bad, but perhaps you can elaborate on the article you
posted. How could Sao Joao Nepomuceno be paired to the Steinbach meteorite?
Best wishes,
Regine

Amazing piece Paul, Zagami is a very underpriced Martian fall, as rare as it
gets.
I have some great pieces which will be on display at the Tucson show. Zagami is
becoming impossible to get ahold of, the main mass has been cut down as far as
