so is mezz django 1.7 ready to go yet? pip install mezzanine still seems to
be pulling in django 1.6.x .

Hey Leonarodo what sort of page are you using?
Try creating a template pages/index.html and at the top simply add:
{% exteds pages/richtextpage.html %}
replacing richtextpage with whatever page type you have created the home
page as.
