Oddly enough, as it turned out, he actually wasn't proud to be an Okie from
Muskogee. That song was, in fact, the toilet seat he had to wear...and he
was sorry that he'd recorded it. Big loss. Saw him honoured at the
Kennedy Honors a few years ago. Merle was COOL.
