I was a freshmen at the time of the outage (now I'm doing my MS), though I
don't have an crazy stories. I do remember many frantic TAs and closely
following all the updates.

I was there when Eric Allman and Kirk McKusick decommissioned

private mail server. Easy to talk to the world, but impossible to reach
