Hi All, I wanted to send a quick update on v1.1 feature set.
I'm sure everyone on this list knows that as you get closer to a release date-- you re-evaluate your feature list and cut features that are not absolutely essential. Given that we're getting closer to our release date (less than 3 months away), we want to make sure we focus our remaining time and energy on the top priorities for v1.1 and that we're doing everything possible to hit our dates. As such, we decided to remove two features from the v1.1 roadmap-- Offsetting (http://www.mifos.org/developers/wiki/Offsetting) and Moratoriums (http://www.mifos.org/developers/wiki/MoratoriumRequirements). We have also decided to cut two internationalization features from this release: support for comma as a decimal separator (ie, 1000,00 instead of 1000.00) and support for the MM/DD/YYYY date format that is used in the US, Philippines and a few other places (Mifos will only support DD/MM/YYYY date format). I realize these are important features for the extended community-- but the v1.1 release is already quite large and cutting these features will help us focus our QA efforts and ensure we ship a high quality product in April. We have also adjusted some of the dates for the interim milestones leading up to the release. Sam Birney will be sending an email updating the community on this.
