The ldapvacation program with the exact same configuration works fine
testing it on my (i386) thinkpad but not on my amd64 servers. I'm
wondering if anyone else can confirm that this program has problems
running on amd64. Here is the command I run and the output I get:
(which
happens not to be close enough to the video port to use the KVM cable).
Is this a problem that can be fixed? I thought I saw some work to reset
USB ports somewhere. Was that in the main release or is that someone's
patch?
Thanks,

Update on this: It also causes the system to crash apparently. It did not crash
previously, before the KVM, and now it has a few times while connected to the
KVM and writing to a umass device. I am doing a massive rsync/rsnapshot at the
same time to a umass device.
I'm going to try it without

Thanks to Jolan's recommendation to fiddle with umodem.c has helped. I
now have
#define UMODEMIBUFSIZE 2048
#define UMODEMOBUFSIZE 2048
It works quite well now except that almost everytime I pull out the card,
OpenBSD freezes. I guiltily admit that this may be due to me using an instable
Dear Misc,
(re-opening an old thread)
I got this card to work using ppp, but the performance is not as good
(higher latency, 100kbps vs 1Mbps) as on Windows and I drop my
connections all the time.
My /etc/ppp is attached in a tarball. Any tips for fixing or
troubleshooting greatly
Dear Misc,
I see an occasional problem with amavisd on OpenBSD. It happens to a few
messages, some of the time. They eventually hit the retry count and
bounce, unless I push them through unfiltered.

Dear Misc,
OK The thinkpad X40 now works. Thunderbird has a few issues, but I'll
address that separately when I have the time.
My question today is: Has anyone gotten the Verizon PC5740 card to work
with OpenBSD? It shows up as a umodem. I'm not sure how exactly to use
it though. I tried: tip

Thanks, Otto! That's what I needed.
I had to add a couple lines to /etc/remote for tip to work. On to pppd

No, you're not cracy. Go to a SSL-Site and then try to print, or try to

Dear Misc,
Just got an Epson MFC-6800 laser printer.
So I install cups for the first time, google for a compatible driver. I can
print using lp. Abiword prints. Gnumeric prints. Firefox now just exits as
soon as I choose Print from the file menu (before I could print to file at
least).
I must be crazy because it's working now.
I'll keep starting it from an xterm so if it happens, I catch the error.
thanks,
