Hello folks!
I have a Gateway Solo 3350 and I want to remake it with OpenBSD. This laptop
has an ethernet connection and a single USB port; And while I have access to a
USB-based floppy drive, this device can not be used for booting.
I am prepared to do a PXE ethernet boot but I need very s
I want to put up 3.8 on my laptop.
Can I download and run a DOS or Windoz pgm?
I don't think I'm up to a PXE install., (It's the TCP scripting that frightens
me.)

I want aircard support of course (which lets out DELL and a few other
manufactuer's.)
So what's the best? Why?
BTW: I suspect, but have zero affirming data, that SSH2 has been cracked. I
had numerous security incidents on another laptop (not running Obsd,) so I
don't know if the problem was
Right now I have a FreeBSD Gateway (generic) box and am trying to smoothly
insert an obsd system in it's place.

So I spent yesterday putting up a nice OpenBSD box; Lot's of space, very fast
-- and first thing today I discovered that EGCS does not equal GCC.
I'd like to know what's involved in removing EGCS and installing GCC?
And if you aren't a compiler person, my guess is that this not a trivial thing
I am just not with it, ie., TCP and such like the rest of you; I am doing
other stuff...
Here's my question.
Two boxes, at different locations.
I am modem'ed into a remote box, (call it box REMOTE,) while I am at box LOCAL.
I know my IP number (at LOCAL)
I don't know the IP number at REMOTE
I need to get around this problem; Is adding comments to the KDE makefile the
right solution?? I need a work around.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

is Xorg a security problem? I thought the issue was KDE.
I'm a newbie to both OpenBSD and security problems; About a year ago I
discovered that I had a pack of vermin inside my computer lab. The kind that
come across TCP/IP lines.
And I do want my interface to the world to be secure. But I've heard that both
of these packages (java and flash) are not. So first, I've come here to ask
others, at least one quesiton:
Is Java secure? More specificly, is the OpenBSD Java sub-system secure? Can I
use it safely? I had a num
Any hints...
Is it realistic to attempt this?
