Perhaps a problem with MSS (so PMTU discovery).
Could you check if all ICMP are blocked at work ?
Is it possible you setup your iMac to use a lower mss (let's say 1200)
and try again ?
I check with MTU 1200 on iMac. And the problem is solved.
