  Well, I have tried that and ... it works
  Yes, it is working ok, but if your setup is like mine and after
  connecting to the ipsec, your internal network contains more branches
  connected through vpn and in conclusion the internal network contains
  more unroutable ip address classes, the problem appears because you
  appear in your network with the ip that your phone gets from the
  internet connection it has. So it is a little bit tricky to route your
  phone to other ip classes then the one you are directly connected.
  I have used in ipsecctl the tag option, and then in pf.conf I have
  created an nat pool which is just for the phones connecting from
  outside.

  But it is a start, I mean, from no vpn (except symbian pptp) until here
  we allready have a big progress. It would be nice if we could also get
  working the xauth and ip address assigning to phone through ipsec, but
  as I am not a developer, I hope it will happen someday.

  Cheers

There isn't any Openvpn client for any mobile phone.

You have to prepare an installation floppy disk and boot from it; don't
use the CD. Then just follow the information on that page. When the
setup asks you where the remaining files are, you have to choose ftp or
http, since the CD won't be accessible.

Hi Topaz,
you could try to install OpenBSD from an usb key
(http://azbsd.org/~marco/openbsd/flashkeyinstaller/)

Or if you have a usb floppy drive, you can use :
http://ftp.openbsd.org/pub/OpenBSD/4.7/i386/floppy47.fs

I would suggest trying a -current snapshot, it's quite possible that your
machine is supported better there. (Or wait for 4.8 release). There
were many changes in ACPI since 4.7 which may very well have fixed
things for this vaio.

 My laptop can be booted by ONLY IEEE1394 connected DVD drive.So I
 guess the drive isn't supported by OpenBSD.That's why istallation won't
 continue from the middle.

This doesn't matter, by the time the kernel has loaded you don't need
the CD any more (providing you have a usable network interface over which
you can download the installation files).

Can't kill a state with pfctl?

2010-10-05 Thread Matthew Sullenberger
Hello misc,

I'm really coming around to using Openbsd and PF for my firewalls, it has
been a great experience so far, however I am having trouble with the pfctl
command in regards to killing an active state. I've tried my best to follow
the man pages and seem to be doing just what it says, but it just isn't
working.

I have an OpenBSD box routing between two LAN segments, 192.168.10.0/24 and
192.168.0.0/24. I add a rule to my pf.conf to block traffic from the
192.168.10.0/24 net to a specific host, 192.168.0.23, port 80. Works fine,
All new connection attempts are blocked as expected. However if there is an
existing established connection, it continues to function. So I try to kill
the existing state with pfctl, but no luck.

First I tried it by specific ID:

# pfctl -s state -vv | grep 192.168.0.23 -A 3

all tcp 192.168.0.23:80 - 192.168.10.111:1230   ESTABLISHED:ESTABLISHED

   [2511621728 + 59935]  [791437282 + 6432]

   age 05:18:15, expires in 24:00:00, 203727:267131 pkts, 8886145:242055534
bytes

   id: 4ca1ac7500441b35 creatorid: a11bb4a9

all tcp 192.168.10.111:1230 - 192.168.0.23:80   ESTABLISHED:ESTABLISHED

   [791437282 + 6432]  [2511621728 + 59935]

   age 05:18:15, expires in 24:00:00, 203727:267131 pkts, 8886145:242055534
bytes

   id: 4ca1ac7500441b36 creatorid: a11bb4a9

# pfctl -k id -k 4ca1ac7500441b35

killed 0 states

Trying without the -k id produces killed 0 states from 1 source and 0
destinations

Trying to kill all connections from the host (pfctl -k 192.168.0.23) does
the same.

I'm pulling this straight from pfctl man pages, but can't seem to get it
working. I know I'm probably messing something silly, but am blind to see
what it is!

As always, thanks for the help in advance. I love this group, everyone has
been very helpful as I make my journey into OpenBSD.

LACP Over Wireless Bridge

2010-10-05 Thread Fabio Almeida
   Hi all :)

I have the following scenario:

   +--+
|Lan Switch|
   +--+
 |
 +-+
 |OpenBSD Bridge + trunk (LACP)|
 +-+
 |  |
+--+  +--+
|Rocket M5 WiMax Bridge|  |Rocket M5 WiMax Bridge|
+--+  +--+
   ^  ^
   ^  ^
   ^  ^
+--+  +--+
|Rocket M5 WiMax Bridge|  |Rocket M5 WiMax Bridge|
+--+  +--+
 |  |
  +- -+
  |3Com Swich 5500/4200 (LACP)|
  +---+
 |
   +--+
|Lan Switch|
   +--+

There's two WiMax Links to the same location, the idea is to use it for
failover.
In a lab setup, OpenBSD Bridge directed connected on 3Com switch,
everything works, no problem.

My doubt is related with the LACP packets crossing the wireless links.
I've googled, but couldn't find any definitive information about that.
Any directions will be aprecciated, so:

Is there a chance this messy setup can work?
Has anyone configured some setup like that in Bridge mode (not ECMP)?
Anyone knows if there are any wireless device that properly handle LACP
packets (let then cross the wireless bridge)?

Thanks in advance,
Fabio Almeida

help in compile with system gcc/g++

2010-10-05 Thread Amit Kulkarni
Hello,

I have a current from yesterday and I have successfully updated to new
GNOME 2.32 via pkg_add -u and I am having compile problems using
gcc/g++.

I try to compile www.ITK.org's insight toolkit using system compiler
in -current. It gives weird crashes with different filenames with
messages like

internal compiler error: Segmentation fault
please submit a full bug report,
with preprocessed source if appropriate.
See URL:http://gcc.gnu.org/bugs.html for instructions

I hit gmake and it proceeds further along and then crashes in some
other file. I can't get to 100 % compile without this manual restart.
Could somebody please help me out and tell me where I should look to
resolve this issue?

The problems are cropping up anywhere, where should I put a
pre-processed file to output? I tried to give debug and save-temps in
ccmake configuration like the GCC bugs page says to do. It generates
the .i files for only some files not all of them. Looking at the
screen, most of the compile problems are coming in
/usr/include/g++/bits/*.h, related to STL/Templates stuff. Sometimes
it gives assembler messages like this

[ 79%] Building CXX object
Code/IO/CMakeFiles/ITKIO.dir/itkDICOMSeriesFileNames.cxx.o
[ 79%] Building CXX object
Code/IO/CMakeFiles/ITKIO.dir/itkDicomImageIOFactory.cxx.o
itkDicomImageIOFactory.s: Assembler messages:
itkDicomImageIOFactory.s:43615: Error: junk at end of line, first
unrecognized character is `8'

If anybody is interested, they can download the latest ITK sources
from ITK git repo and apply the patches posted today by me to make it
compile http://www.itk.org/pipermail/insight-users/2010-October/038256.html

Tonight I am updating to latest kernel, then leave the build on for
the night for userland and Xenocara. There's not much change since
yesterday but still I don't want to leave anything out.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Missing nsd.conf in snaps

2010-10-05 Thread Joe Gidi
Running the 10/03/10 snapshot of amd64, I notice nsd.conf has been added
to /etc/mtree/special but the actual /etc/nsd.conf file seems to be
missing, so security(8) complains about the missing file.

I just grabbed the etc48.tgz for today's snaps and found that nsd.conf is
not present there, either. Is it being left out of snapshots for some
reason?

AD1986A Data Sheet Available. Could somebody please fix the Sound Driver?

2010-10-05 Thread Siju George
Hi,

The only machine I own in my house is an old amd64 which has the
following sound card.

VIA VT1708/A that has AD1986A Codec

It gives out sound but does not capture sound from Mic on any OS except Windows.
Since my family wants to voice chat with my brother who has gone
abroad for higher studies I tried contacting the Linux developers to
fix the driver.

http://marc.info/?l=linux-kernelm=126414072830819w=2

I was re directed to a VIA developer who told me that she does not
have the Data Sheet to fix the problem :-(

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=699431#p699431

I got the Data Sheet from

http://www.analog.com/static/imported-files/data_sheets/AD1986A.pdf

and Contacted the VIA developer and the Linux Kernel Developer who
re-directd me there again but there was no response :-(

Since I have now figured out how to use Voice Chat on OpenBSD it would
be great if some body who has time look into this and fix this issue
:-)

Thanks

first, 'line-pnk' is almost certainly the rear mic input, and 'mic'
is the front mic input. let's stick with the rear jacks for now.

so you want this:
 outputs.line-pnk_dir=output  [ none output input input-vr0 input-vr50
 input-vr80 ]

to get to this:
 record.adc-0:1_source=sel8  [ sel8 cd sel7 mix mix2 ]

first step, set line-pnk to be a mic input:

$ mixerctl outputs.line-pnk=input-vr80

I bet that's what kills it for other OSes. shame on the BIOS vendor for
naming it like that and shame on the board vendor for using such a silly
codec.  anyway ...

now we want to see what line-pnk can feed into:

$ mixerctl -v | grep '_source=.*line-pnk'
inputs.sel6_source=mic  [ mic line-in line-pnk line-pnk mix4 mix5 mix6 mix7 ]
inputs.mix4_source=mic,line-pnk  { mic line-pnk }
inputs.mix6_source=line-pnk,line-in  { line-pnk line-in }
inputs.mix7_source=mic,line-pnk,line-in  { mic line-pnk line-in }

hmm, we're trying to get to
 record.adc-0:1_source=sel8  [ sel8 cd sel7 mix mix2 ]
but none of sel6, mix4, mix6 or mix7 are choices.  let's see what sel6
can feed:
$ mixerctl -v | grep '_source=.*sel6'
inputs.sel8_source=sel6  [ sel6 mix8 ]
inputs.mix8_source=sel6  { sel6 }

aha, we can have line-pnk - sel6 - sel8 - adc-0:1, and that appears
to be the shortest routing (there are others, but ignore those for now).

there's only one more thing to change:

$ mixerctl inputs.sel6_source=line-pnk

now, it's strange there are two line-pnk choices for sel6_source.
that's really a bug in azalia(4). oh well. most likely, one is the
jack itself and one is an amp. it's hard to tell, even with a
datasheet, what's really going on, as nodes can be labeled by the BIOS.
I'm guessing you don't have the code to the BIOS. you could build a
kernel with AZALIA_DEBUG defined and get a better picture.

anyway, I think that's all you should have to do to record from the rear
mic jack:

$ mixerctl outputs.line-pnk_dir=input-vr80
$ mixerctl inputs.sel6_source=line-pnk
$ mixerctl inputs.sel8_source=sel6
$ mixerctl record.adc-0:1_source=sel8

alternatively, to get around the double line-pnk choice in sel6, route
through mix4 instead:

$ mixerctl outputs.line-pnk_dir=input-vr80
$ mixerctl
