wire interfaces behave as expected:
remove hostname.iface and it will never be UP after boot.
This however does not apply to wlan interfaces.
Why not?
Well, I did a cvsup (no manual patching). With cvsup came openssl patches too.
So I, personly , compiled/installed openssl first, then continued with openssh.
I do setup extra instance of sshd/telnet before any major upgrade.
I did the same with openssh as you - make clean obj depend , etc.
Works
Why don't ignore them and don't buy their products?
I have already a list of vendors I'm not buying products from anymore, like
Adaptec.
I'm also encouraging people to buy products from OpenSource-friendly vendors,
like RaLink.

Hi [EMAIL PROTECTED]
As I have mentioned before my 3.9-box locks up in a strange way:
1. it is pingable
2. syn-scan gives out open ports
3. but those ports are not accessable(for ex. I can not drop in into this box
via ssh or browse port 80)
This is a second lock-up after upgrade, box stays up
I had almost the same problem here too.
Box is dell 1850 with MP-board, 1 CPU inside, running GENERIC.MP.
It stopped to accept any connections, but:
1. responded to ping very quickly
2. syn-scan gave out that ports were open (those which should be open)
4. no heavy traffic incoming
3. no dumps on
You are not alone with watchdog timeouts on sis(sis0 at pci0 dev 4 function 0
SiS 900 10/100BaseTX rev 0x91).
For now I switched to fxp.

AFAIK, HTT is not supported in OpenBSD.
So re-enable it in BIOS - OS will ignore it anyway.

You can always chroot them into homedir.
rewrite stsh to make a chroot-call via sudo.
Add access to chroot via sudo to everyone.
add user with /bin/chrootsh as they shell.
create a chroot-env for a user in they homedir.
cp favorit shell into chroot-env and symlink it to chrootsh:
cd /home/user; cd
