Hi, People have the same issue with IBM servers - the fans run like crazy, and I believe it is the OS' responsibility to check temperatures and adjust fans as necessary. IBM's interface to its fan control systems is underdocumented, and if there's nothing in OpenBSD to control Dell's, then

People have the same issue with IBM servers - the fans run like crazy, and I believe it is the OS' responsibility to check temperatures and adjust fans as necessary. Not true. On a PC, it is acpi's responsibility to do that, if they even exist.
