Hi,

OpenSMTPD follows closely the release cycle of OpenBSD so that it shares
the same version number for "major" releases. It makes it easier to know
what version OpenBSD is shipping with and it provides us with milestones
and a direction.

This means that every 6 months, we tag a release and we include the code
we consider reliable. If we really want a feature but it's not finished,
the release won't be delayed, it will just miss that feature.

If a bug is discovered right after we tag, it's tough luck.
We can't "untag" so we have to make another minor release.
This is why we had 5.3 then 5.3.1 a week later ;-)

We are now VERY close to tagging the 5.4 release due in October.
We need you to HEAVILY test the latest snapshots __as soon as possible__
and help us make sure our next release comes with the quality we expect.

Feel free to ask any question in this thread ;-)

PS: TEST please !
