*NTU Releases Congressional Candidate Survey Results*
NTU has polled Congressional hopefuls for 20 years, but in recent election
cycles, we have been able to offer increasingly comprehensive data that is
useful for members of the public as well as the media. The 2008 NTU Survey
of Congressional Candidates consisted of 14 questions covering topics such
as tax reform, spending, entitlements, and earmark reform.
"Taxpayers deserve straight answers from Congressional hopefuls, and in
order to get them we must ask equally straightforward questions," said NTU
President Duane Parde.

In response to Congressional passage of the $700 billion Wall Street bailout
package, NTU and the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) have together

to properly assess the government's role in the country's current financial
difficulties, establish some real policy solutions for those core problems,
and provide an outlet for visitors to petition elected officials.

for both the conditions that necessitated a rescue package and for allowing
one of the largest-ever government intrusions into the private sector to
become law," NTU Government Affairs Manager Andrew Moylan said. "Beyond
