You can't do this, because 7.7.1 is too old to work on fc3. You'll
need one of the newer snapshots, preferably the most recent one from
september.
And in any case you can't compile MIT/GNU Scheme from source until it
is already installed. So you should just download the binaries and
install them

Why don't you install the binary package (RPM or
whatever comes with Fedora)? Or DrScheme?
