I think we can resolve these issues after the release of 1.12 and before

Daniel, Outreachy has two rounds each year. Mixxx could participate in
the May-August 2016 round.

Aside from Google Summer of Code there are other internship programs
that we could try to take advantage of. For instance, Outreachy:
