If you watch commits to master carefully, you may have noticed a new
file appear recently, CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md.  This is the first of what
will be a series of documents establishing a more explicit set of
community standards and practices for the Mixxx Project.  Codes of
Conduct are not just a fad that Open Source communities have started to
adopt, they are a powerful tool to help keep projects going and
navigate difficult terrain.

The Code we have chosen is based on Chromium's, which itself is the
product of a number of well-regarded documents.  It could be summarized
as "be excellent to each other," but it also outlines the type of
behavior we don't want to see in interactions on the Mixxx Project.

I should be clear that I don't think we have an endemic problem of
troll-like behavior, so this document isn't a reaction to any person or
thread or event.  Instead it's meant as a foundation for a good
community, as well as a signal to potential contributors that Mixxx
intends to be a positive, affirming place to spend time and be
productive.
