Hi there
It has been suggested recently (on cinelerra mailing list) to convert to dnxHD
then import in cinelerra.
I have tested it from various uncompressed data in quicktime and it works a
treat with cinelerra.
Something like
fffmpeg -i file.whatever - vcodec dnxhd -b 185000k fileresult.mov

use y4mscaler to shrink your file:

At least for PAL countries.. Surely there will be a NTSC version ...

Hi all
I was looking at some soft here on my system and I found "monitest"...
I think it is part of libggi-2.0.4-1mdk and probably a good thing to test and
set colours on your screen..
Anybody already tried that ?
Cheers

Hi
A bit off topic, but could be useful. I have this old VHS tape with REALLY
bad sound on it. I gain boost with a bit of gain and lowpassfiltering but
still there is a kind of fluctuation I cannot get rid of.
Anybody with an advice ?
Thanks a lot

I did, and I believe that the unsharp mask is more efficient. From what I
understand it is more or less a way or improving the ratio noise / signal.
But I might be
Hi
For the last week or so I have been playing around with a perl script calling
a gimp function in a directory full of ppm to be mpeg2encoded later on.
I have been trying that on various sources and every time I found the
results amazing.

Hi
Just wondering,
My linux boxes are able to write files above the 2Gb limit.
However, mp2enc slices my movies in 2Gb files (-f 8).
I guess a -S 4400 would fit a DVD, but is it recognised by mp2enc using -f 8?
Thanks a lot, replies will avoid my boxes a one night computation for
nothing.

Hi

Trying to fit the unfitable What is the minimum muxrate acceptable for a
DVD ?
I am too long of a good 10 minutes and I'd like to reduce the muxrate.
So far I have been using the -f 8 standard but could a
mpeg2enc -f 3 -b 8000 -B 96 with mplex -r 8250 be Ok ?
Or should I go to mpeg2
Hi all
First try in getting my family super 8mm to DV.
Grabbing is not an issue, not too much, the projector is good enough (Elmo),
flickering is reduced as much as possible by speed adjustement and slow
shutter (cam is a sony pc101)
However the result after encoding is terrible if kept interlace
Hi
I have a clip here but I want to select only a part of it to blow it up to
full size PAL. Resolution is a second issue.
The option -I USE_WidthxHeight+WidthOffset+HeightOffset should do the trick
followed by SIZE_WidthxHeight and the adequate -M something.
Question is : what is WidthOffset
Hi all,
I am learning how to play with yuvcorrect_tune.
I just have a single frame, which I think is Ok. but it lasts for an epsilon.
Anything I am doing wrong ?

Hi
Sorry if it is off topic for this list.
Got a bunch of tga extracted from a DV that I put back onto a dv file thanks
to encodedv (and Selva's advice).
ls * tga | xargs -n1 tgatoppm |encodedv -f 25 -q 1 -i ppm > my_video.dv
Should I introduce the -l or is the result already interlaced ?

Hi
Got a fabulous NTSC video from USA and would like to make it a PAL DV file.
Acquisition is Ok, no worries, thanks to Canopus. Although I am not sure if I
have to use AVI1 or 2 to use it with lav2yuv.
The frame rate : should I use yuvfps 25000:1000 or 25:1 (it has to go back
onto video)

Hi
I am trying various options for the sound. Toolame is supposed to be

I know I do not have a very good sound system on my machine but the wav is
playing fine.
Any advice ?
Thanks

Thanks,
I was not really sure if I can understand that as antialiasing, my question
was not to the point. Is it the case ?

I have an ADVC 100 but the user manual is so cheap
Ouch.
Ok I own a ADVC 100 Canopus, once the DV PAL files are on my machine, I
understand (may be I am wrong) that I can export the DV to analogue ou
digital NTSC, as long as I have the NTSC hardware to record with, plugged
into the Canopus.
Sorry for being a pain but this may be a way
reasearch about DVD regions. Most DVD players limited to specific

Hi there
I have a couple of tapes from a Sony DV camera.
A friend of mine is asking for a DVD from these tapes and he is in Canada.
My question is : does the DV format follow any PAL or NTSC standard. If not,
I should be able able to encode in any standard I want ?
Am I right on this one ? :-)
Hi
I am using a low price camera and get some garbage on borders.
I have been using
yuvdenoise -b 16,16,704,560 | mpeg2enc
But still, I have some bad borders, wasting bits for proper encoding on the
center. Top is actually cut off Ok, but not on the bottom (really bad )
