I am wondering if there is a way to use mplex such that it starts from
seconds into the audio and video sources given to it. At present
it can be made to mplex seconds of material from the start of
the audio and video sources but is there a way to perform a simple

vcdhelp.com that this player does NOT play SVCD but does play VCD and XVCD
up to 4000Kb/s. I am aware that XVCD is labled as a "non-standard" mpeg1
video of resolutions up to SVCD. I suppose I can play with mpeg2enc -f2

as mplex can't split files in a suitable way for ifogen, I have joined
my files, and I have lots of files bigger than 2Gb, and when I try to
create a DVD with such files:
ifogen -o /video2/tmp/VIDEO_TS/VTS --next-vts file.mpg
STAT: Picking VTS 04
STAT: Processing file.mpg
ERR: Error op

Tremendous: adding -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -D_LARGEFILE64_SOURCE
effectively make it working also for me !!!

In order to be able to use 'mpeg2enc'oded streams in IfoEdit it is
necessary to have fixed I-frame location (from what I understand). One
can create a template for TMPEnc which looks like that:

Maybe you are interrested in the -c|--closed-GOPs and -P|--force-b-b-p
options mpeg2enc has.
