[mkgmap-dev] problem with splitter

2011-07-11 Thread Henning Scholland
Hi, I discovered a problem with splitter.jar when using a areas.list with more then 255 tiles. If there are e.g. 256 tiles in one areas.list then splitter processes only half of the tiles e.g. 128. If there are 255 or less tiles inside, all tiles were processed. Is this a bug or a feature? I

Thanks, seems to be working out nicely. Never had a better address search with mkgmap created maps so far. Just some notes for people on how to search best (and also more or less an explication why the locator branch trouble - maybe with the exeption of country borders - is not needed, cause it

I've send Loll78 a message to check into this discussion, let's hope he responds. It has to do with a proposed relation change which seems to be intended to be applied to the France border. Luckily that border hasn't changed yet. Take a look at http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Relations/Propo

Steve, I've tried to merge the locator-branch with your city-region-branch, but I get a few errors and he failed to build the jar. Could you please merge it for me? I've tried: svn co http://svn.parabola.me.uk/mkgmap/branches/locator mkgmap-locator cd mkgmap-locator svn merge ^/branches/city-regi

Hi I hope I have worked out how it should work and the latest on city-region-index branch works for me with your tiles just rebuilding the index. There is a slight change to the code creating the tiles, so make sure that recompiling the tiles works too. ..Steve __

I vote for repairing it. I have read the multipolygon and boundary wiki pages again and again and think that they don't allow using the boundary-segment relations to compose the complete boundary relation. Anyhow mapnik does not support using boundary segments and that's a good explanation why

Thanks, that was very helpful. I can probably work on a fix for that now. It looks like the city search, only uses the POI section of the index. Therefore I need to try making the same change to the POI section and retain multiple city POIs that have different region/country's. ..Steve _
