Re: [mkgmap-dev] Patch for better Autorouting

2009/12/1 Felix Hartmann extremecar...@googlemail.com: As announced yesterday - here is a patch against the default-style-file to heavily improve Autorouting for cars/motorcycles. So this patch, if I understand it correctly, creates duplicate ways at a higher resolution, but with a lower speed.

[mkgmap-dev] Possibility to not put certain lines into resolution=24, but e.g. only 18 and 20?

2009-12-01 Thread Felix Hartmann
I think that neither Garmin nor cgpsmapper compiler do this, but would there be a possibility to start some lines only in resolution 20, while the rest of the map is starting at 24? Reason being is that I would like to change layout (TYP) at level 19 and below for some objects. (namely I

Hi Tino, For reference: I've already posted about this in the thread [PATCH v1] Merge similar lines and ways. You'll have to do the merging after the processing of the ways, but before the IMG file is created. As the current code creates the IMG file on the fly during processing, there is

2009-12-01 Thread Johann Gail
My guess is... After merging you have 1 graphical line that spans the length of the combined lines associated with a routing arc that only spans the length of the original un-merged line. When you put the cursor near the lines that have been merged, mapsource, finds the arc associated with

[mkgmap-dev] Compiling Mkgmap failes

I'm having problems compiling Mkgmap, maybe someone here is able to help with that: Before compiling I removed all java stuff, then installed sun-java6-jdk on my ubuntu installation. Then downloaded Mkgmap from SVN, ran 'ant dist' as per Mkgmap wiki page and got the following error: ant

Hi Johann, Hi Mark, if your guess is true (it indeed seems so), then this would mean that there is some linking between the graphical line and the arc. I know there is a one to one link at highest resolution. There seems to be link at lower resolutions too. This may well be the

[mkgmap-dev] View .img files on a Mac -- Create .tdb from .img

I am trying to view .img files on a Mac using Garmin RoadTrip. (I haven't tried using QLandKarte GT because I think it would be a big job to build Qt and then QLandKarte GT.) I am using Mkgmap to create .tdb and overview .img files and then Gmapi Builder to create an installation package for

Hi all, Is there a smart way to have mkgmap explicitly setting an empty name for lines? - when I use [default_name ''] the name is filled with some odd content, in my case Castle Hill Police... - when I use [default_name ' '] the name is filled with the expected space, but this causes a black
