This is just cosmetics but I'd like to know what I have to add in the
typ file that grade 3,4. etc tracks do not get the labels grade 3, etc
in my device.

The first times I dealed with Openstreetmap maps and mapsource I got
often the error that mapsource told me it had problems and needed to be
reinstalled.
That was due to the fact that I had deleted some folders so mapsource
could not find them anymore. ;-)
I had to use regedit to delete
I recommend MapsetToolkit for this. Can install and remove Garmin maps from
registry. Not sure if it's mentioned in the wiki. definitely in the archives of
this list.
