Hi Dan,
It seems to me you asked a reasonable question.
I ran the "free" command.
It's results are attached.
It looks to me like at least 1 GB of RAM was
available.
Or over 4 GB, if you consider the max.
It was enough for other projects with about 10 X
as many pics and about 10 X as long.
