I was contemplating buying I pad or I pad mini. just wanted to check whether
can we make and receive phone calls or exchanges SMSes on the same as we do in
our normal Mobile phones. Can it be a complete replacement for a I phone? Also
does 3 g data packs provided by the mobile telecom s

You cannot make or receive calls on iPad.
It cannot be a replacement of iPhone.
Yes, data packs works but you need to obtain a model that's wi-fi +3 G.
