And worth note mentioning that previous version of what'sapp will no longer
work on nokia phone. if you even get the previous version of whatsapp from
somewhere, and install on your phone, it will directly terminate prompting
you that this version of what'sapp is to old, and recommends you to upgrade
your whatsapp.

Subject: [Mobile.AI] Accessible Whatsap for Nokia E5?

Dear all,

A friend of mine uses Nokia E5 and the latest WhatsApp is behaving bit aud
with Talks. It is difficult to read group messages and the Talks really
doesn't read the entire messages most of the time. I remember Someone
mentioning on the list that the previous version was more accessible than
the current one. Could someone please direct to download the same or if
someone has it as .SIS file then kindly share it?

With best regards,
Satguru

Hello sir, but I'm also still adopting the nokia c5, and the latest talks is
doing quite a better job over the latest whatsapp! It is still reading a

Hm! So I see, there is hardly any choice left except ditching the
rubbish Nokia phone and moving on to Android? Dealing with current version
of WhatsAp is really difficult! Pressing arrows reads many messages at a
time and it becomes difficult to figure out who sent what and when.

Hi,

1. For Android One users and for those who use nearly Stock Android on
phones like MotoG etc., touch the screen slightly above the home button
while there is an incoming call and the Talkback would anounce Slide
Right for Answer. Here, don't lift your finger and just slide your finger
towards the right and the call should be answered. It is similar like
unlocking the screen. Please note, in Android One phones specifically,
there is no option to answer call by pressing Home button like in JB 4.2
phones. However, you can surely set power button to end the call in
SettingsAccessibility.
2. If you still find this tricky, you might like to use some auto call
answer app which would answer your call the moment you bring the phone
close to your ear. Speakerphone Eich is one such app which has this
feature. This would also be helpful to automatically turn on the speaker
when phone is away from your face so that functions like IVR can be used
easily. However, this app doesn't work well with my Micromax Android One
phone though it worked very well with my previous phone Lava Iris 405+
having JB4.2. An update might have fixed the bug which I didn't check
recently.

To end the call, power button may be used by ticking the box in
accessibility settings, I believe.
To accept the call, the gesture up and then right I am using, but would
appreciate a quicker and more reliable method.

[Mobile.AI] come join in the exersise to inform app developers of unlabled buttens in there apps for android organised by the eyes free team

2014-11-12 Thread Austin Pinto
Hi all.
as all of you who follow emails from the eyes free list for android
must be knowing that they have started a kind of exercise to inform
app developers about unlabeled buttons in there apps for android and
they have written to apps like blue mail what sup battery doctor and
others so on this Global accessibility awareness day I thought of
emailing some of the Indian app developers also international app
developers of apps that we use on a daily basses and telling them to
label unlabeled buttons
I have emailed apps like map my India which is a fantastic offline
navigation app with voice guided gps navigation I also will be
following up with the developers of battery doctor which is the best
power saver app on android and I also will be emailing the app
developers of XDA which is a 99% accessible app from where u can read
posts reply to posts on xda forum for android for who don't know what
xda forum is it is a central place where developers come to share
developments of new roms device related questions and answers new apps
and so on.
So how you can get in touch with app developers?
Simple way.
1. Go to play store on mobile or pc and find the app for which u want
to contact navigate down just before the similar heading there will be
the email id of the app developer if u don't get an email id u can
visit the website of the developer.
2. Then use Gmail to compose the email and send.
What should the email contain?
1. Your name.
2. Type about your visual impairment.
3. Name of your phone and android version.
4. Steps to produce.
This is a sample steps to produce you can modify it according to your phone.
1. Go to settings and accessibility.
2. Enable talkback.
3. You can exit out of the explore by touch tutorial.
4. Now open the app
5. You may have to double tap to open the app because talkback is enabled.
6. Now move around the screen with your fingers and talkback will say
button 16 button 09 button 99 and so on.

come lets make this world a more accessible place

   Hi
All these tips will definitely help in giving more juice from your
   battery.
However, despite doing all that, if your phone does not see you
through the day or a reasonable time, then what? It is especially
more difficult to find a place to charge the phone when your outdoors.

Battery bank is the big saver for that. You get it for various power
ratings and accordingly it's price varies.

It is almost a must accessory for all smart phones.

Even if you get into a situation you have to charge your phone
outdoors, it makes more sense charging your power bank rather
   exposing your expensive phone

Power banks are easily available at any mobile phone stores and are
   also available online.
