hello vamshi.
i think you are using general profile.
try using other profile.
if you don't want talks to speak anything rather than airtail, then do this.
go to profile settings and locate on desired profile.
select profile name and while typing profile name just put dot or coma.
now when you will be on home screen talks will only speak airtail,
nothing else.
thank you.

[Mobile.AI] Fwd:Interview on Assistive technology for visually challenged: Participation required

2013-10-26 Thread Vamshi. G
Dear friends,

An intern from Microsoft, Erin Braidy is conducting a survey on usage
of assistive technology by visually challenged people. I participated
in the interview today, and felt it was quite useful. We often feel
there is not much effort in the area of assistive technology by
developers/vendors, etc. So, it should be our responsibility to let
our voices heard when ever there is an opportunity. I personally
appeal to all the members to take out sometime to participate in the
interview.

If you are willing, please drop a mail to
t-erb...@microsoft.com

Pasting the invite from the interviewer below.

From: Erin Brady
t-erb...@microsoft.com

Hello all -

I'm an intern at Microsoft Research here in Bangalore. We're working
on a study of technology use by visually impaired people in India to
learn more about what tools people are commonly using, and what
unsolved needs exist. We feel that as members of AccessIndia, you all
have a good understanding of the available technologies and their
drawbacks.

If anyone would be interested in participating in an interview with
us, we'd greatly appreciate your help. You can write to me at
t-erb...@microsoft.commailto:
t-erb...@microsoft.com
and we will try to schedule a phone call (it will last under an hour).
If you do have any questions, feel free to direct them to me.

Thank you!

Intex launches touch and type smartphone for Rs 4,990

Homegrown handset maker Intex Technologies today launched its new touch
 and
type smartphone -- Aqua QWERTY -- for Rs 4,990.

 The handset combines a touch-sensitive screen and a user-friendly
 typing
QWERT interface, aimed at offering users more choices in the way they
 use
their smartphones, Intex said in a statement.

The dual SIM device features a 3.5-inch display touchscreen, 1.2 GHz
 dual
core processor, 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS, 1500 mAh battery, 512MB RAM and
internal memory of 4GB (expandable upto 32 GB).

It also has a 5MP rear camera and a VGA front camera.

Aqua Qwerty is a product which offers the convenience of both touch
 and
type features for users who are QWERTY lovers but wish to explore the
 touch
experience at the same time, Intex Business Head (Mobile) Sanjay Kumar
 Kalirona said.

Intex has stepped into the QWERTY keypad smartphone segment after a lot
 of
market research and believes that the Aqua Qwerty will be a vehicle of
smartphone adoption in the highly untapped segment of women smartphone
 users
 in India, he added.

is getting displayed on the phone and not the main window i.e., only
the items like network, time, battery etc. are shown. I can't even
attend a call due to this reason. It can be corrected only by
restarting the phone. The case is same for sighted also i.e., the
main screen appears blank for them. Is there a way I can revert to

Re: [Mobile.AI] Muting voice over in certain cases

2014-11-21 Thread Vamshi. G
Dear Mujtaba,

That is exactly why I wanted to mute some announcements. It is very
irritating during nights when the phone makes announcements. And the
issue is more disturbing when we share the room with a family member
or friend. And the situation is no different in a meeting in a closed
room. We must figure out a way to avoid this trouble. I think one
way is to mute voice over in such situations. But there must be some
other way.

On 11/21/14, Mister CANE mujta...@gmail.com wrote:
 Hi Vamsi;

You cannot control the reading of messages from your carrier. Like call
 cost
messages and internet usage ones. I figured out that everytime the
connection to the 3G network is lost the damn message is read out.

However, you can control the way your SMS alerts are read out. Go to
settings; Notifications; Under messages switch off all options except sound
and show on locked screen. I am not sure of the latter, switch it off if it
still reads your SMS message, but the objective is to have only the chime
played each time you receive a message. I assume that this is what you
 want.

 Hope this helps.

Subject: [Mobile.AI] Muting voice over in certain cases

 Dear friends,

I'd like to mute voice over in iPhone 5c in two situations. First, I
don't want voice over to speak the message that appears after a
call/message or internet usage. I should be able to hear the above
message only when I swipe on the screen for dismissing the message.
Second, I don't want voice over to speak the entire message when I get
a SMS. Instead, I want it to just speak that there is a SMS
 delivered.

[Mobile.AI] Whats app on iPhone

2015-01-20 Thread Vamshi. G
Dear friends,

I'm using Whats App on my iPhone. But in case of group chats, there
is a long list of messages. To read the last one or two unread
messages, I have to navigate all through the the other messages. Is
there a way I can make only the unread messages appear and hide the
red messages? Or arrange it in such a way that unread messages appear
at the top instead of at the bottom?

Re: [Mobile.AI] chat messages in Whats App

2015-10-10 Thread Vamshi. G
I used to face that issue earlier i.e., loosing focus. But I found it
comfortable in the past few months. Now the issue is that the chat
messages are not even displayed. After the group icon, voice over is
reading out the list of participants and then the compose message
area. List of participants is appearing both above and below the
group icon. Is this the issue you have reported to the support team?

learnt that the triple tab home key has to be set and is not available
by default.

[Mobile.AI] Search results not appearing in iPhone app store

2016-07-26 Thread Vamshi. G
Friends,

When I search for a particular app on the IOS app store, the results
are not getting displayed. Its being announced that there is one
result. But the cursor is in the edit box and not moving to the
results. When I swipe to the right, its going to the menu at the
bottom. Is there a way out?

When we need to forward a message from whats app, we double tap and a

Hi Aparna,

I have nearly 500 contacts. I need to send the SMS to almost 400 of
them. Either of the suggested ways, its time consuming and laborious.
In case of Whats App, we can open the contacts list and double tap
while navigating will simply add the contact though voice over doesn't
announce it. I wonder whether there is something similar in SMS.

[Mobile.AI] Email app not working on iPhone

2016-11-09 Thread Vamshi. G
Dear friends,

When I try forwarding something from whats app through mail using the
share option, the email is not reaching the recipient though I'm able
to send it. Moreover, the mail is not getting updated for the last
six months. I checked in the settings that internet is on for mail
app. Can someone guide as to what could have been the issue?

Re: [Mobile.AI] (AI) My introduction to this wonderful group!

2016-12-15 Thread Vamshi. G
Hello Meesha Arora,

Great to see someone like you to work in the main stream, especially
in the finance sector. Can you please brief us about the job profile
and how screen reader usage is helping you in the work place? Are
you working on office applications like Excel, etc. Or do you work on
any specific domains like SAP, oracle etc? Though many are familiar
with screen readers, usage of the same at work place, especially in
the finance field is something we would like to know. We can carry on
the discussion privately if it can not be discussed on public forum.
Awaiting a reply.

Dear Meesha,

You have summed up everything very well. I completely agree with you
on all the aspects. I work in a bank with screen readers. I'm doing
exactly what you have written. Try to be positive, do our best, try
to find out solutions that disability presents, stay away from things
beyond our performance, and finally, be content with our present
performance with a constant effort to improve the scope of the same
in future. I see a very positive and realistic person in you. Would
like to stay in touch. Good luck.
