1.0.0 is really very very very old, a lot of fixes have happened after
that, I'd suggest you use the latest stable whenever possible (e.g.
1.4.12 from yesterday), although that will also require you to update
libqmi and libmbim to their latest stable versions as well. As I said,
1.0.0 is quite old.

When you compile the project you'll get a ModemManager binary under
src/ and a mmcli binary under cli/.
