Can anyone tell me if there is a fix in 2.4.2 for the regression the
prevents compiling functions with generics constraints?

The bug is not closed, so no, it doesn't look like a fix has been
applied to either trunk or the mono 2.4.2 branch.

We have branched mono-2-4-2 from r135667 of branches/mono-2-4 (this includes
debugger libgdiplus mod_mono mono-basic xsp gluezilla mcs mono mono-tools).
We want a quick release if possible so we can get back to all the fun stuff.

We'll be branching, tagging and building Mono 2.4.2p1 next Monday
(June 1st).
Mono 2.4.1 was an internal only release, that's why we're jumping
from 2.4.0 to 2.4.2.
Please back port anything that needs to be part of this release

we will be postponing the branching for 1 week to June 8th.
Please us the extra time to back port important fixes and to get the
branch build unit tests green.
