I need to run mono on windows, linux and Solaris 9.
Win and linux no prob Has anyone successfully
installed on Sol 9 yet.
All goes well till I get to this in make, with no
explanation as to where its failing.
Q1) Why not to develop on windows and only run on linux? Q2) Have you tried http://www.monodevelop.org/Main_Page

Check anjuta (latest devel), btw, what do you expect from an IDE?
Instead of editing/compiling/debuging - which you get from vi/gdb

Is there a config option for to use an alternate method if uClibc does not support TLS? The way that mono will implement it's own backtrace if the system does not? If so, this may be an easy fix.
A quick google search reveals that while it appears uClibc DOES

I will check out the uClibc implementation of pthread_create() and try to see why it raises this signal. It seems that the sigusr1_signal_handler is wired up as some type of thread_abort handler, so perhaps an error occurs and triggers this and it IS a race

Code completion. It's usually so important that on the MonoDevelop
page it's the first feature to be mentioned.

it start to be hard to keep updating my system using 2 or 3 different
package managers, so I decided to use SMART to keep it up to date, as
it can use red carpet repositories as well, so I can keep mono
updated.
