Mine are JFK, The Candidate, The Manchurian Candidate,
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Thirteen Days, All the
Presidents Men and believe it or not, Fritz Lang's
M. To me it poses a strong political dilemna.

I think the Zapruder film is the most interesting and powerful political
film there is as well as the most debated.

Hi, JR, et.al., from Joe B.
I agree with EVERYTHING you have to say
with qualifications:
JFK is, I think, a superb "film" but it needs a disclaimer at the beginning, to wit: "...one man's take on..." Also I know for a fact that Garrison was not the saint he is depicted to be in the film. I

A good political movie??
How about Meet John Doe and it's examination of corruption in government
vs. the common man? Did Capra get this one right or not?

Tom, do you really want to talk politics on MoPo? I'm already suffering from
voter-burnout. :)
Scott Rules Capra is the best! MEET John Doe,, is one of my favorite all

Capra shows us the power of Film in a positive moving and inspiring way in my

OK. Someone mentioned Leslie Nielsen and I just caught the tail end of one

comical opera.
Did I catch the name? NO! What was that???

Hi all,
What about Nixion?? did Hopkins do a good portrayal?
You know what !! I can't think of one good British political movie. It seems
the system in America is more agreeable to the film making process.
That's probably why my favourite is 'All The Presidents Men'
