I have been watching tonight's action over at theBruce Hershenson
Annex to the U.S. Mint and I don't know if some of these prices are "records",
but they are climbing way up there, that's for sure. And not just for the few
"premier" items either. The spending mania seems to have spread to
I do hope that Bruce tries a Vintage Hollywood Auction
on Movie Poster Bid someday. I think these folks from
ebay would flock to Movie Poster Bid. They could just
see the news on Bruce's site.
Congrats to Bruce. I think many people bid because of
reliability. Also the auction is such a cool

I don't know how many are overseas bidders but the exchange rate may have something to do with it. I have noticed that in other auctions where you can see the names of bidders quite a number are from the UK and I think it has to do with the falling dollar.

An Ocean's 11 one sheet went for $2,025 and the two top bidders were from the United Kingdom. Of course, Bruce's auction is not available for our scrutiny so we must rely on Bruce to inform us. Maybe after his auction closes he will tell us how many UK people were

Hello Claude and all
Yes, I agree! It's very much due to the favourable exchange rate for those

I cannot agree more on most raised items. Bruce auction results are just
amazing. I bid on several pieces. I bid way above I would ever dream of bidding
myself and guess what I lost all of my items. BUT REMEMBER, I was bidding at
least 30% higher than all of these items sold for EVER. I am

THis is just
not one auction with amazing results. Look at Grey's, Butterfields auction
results. Look at other auctions on EBAY.
Maybe I am wrong. Am I missing something? I know Bruce has some
celebrities on his side, that's for certain but they

No, I wont match the $2,000 someone paid in Bruces
auction but I will pay a reasonable price, depending upon condition.

Ah yes, Claude, but do you have THE BAT I have, a
pre-20s three sheet that has so far defied identification from the credits it
carries?
Poor old thing needs saving, though.
If a CAT PEOPLE can hit $12k, what does that do
to a BODY SNATCHER one sheet? A superior film, a superior poster
On the flip side, at last for me, I was able to get five lobby cards form original release Universal Horror (House of Dracula, House of Frankenstein, Invisible Man's Revenge (title card),Ghost of Frankenstein and Phantom of The Opera), a 19494-color re-release of Frankenstein Meets The Wolf
