I missed this one..
Wendell Burton who made his feature film debut in 1969's "The Sterile Cuckoo" with Liza Minnelli (Oscar nominated role) died of brain cancer on May 30th at age 69. He followed that up with a controversial role as Smitty in "Fortune and Men's Eyes" (1971). Maybe most people don't remember him. But his early career featured these 2 noteworthy parts, worth seeking out if you haven't seen them. Last film role was in 1986's "Heat" starring Burt Reynolds. "Cuckoo" has that weird late 60's vibe.any time I hear The Sandpipers sing "Come Saturday Morning" it takes me right back to the first time I saw the movie. I know, I'm dating myself. http://deadline.com/2017/06/wendell-burton-obituary-sterile-cuckoo-actor-was -69-1202105873/ https://www.nytimes.com/2017/06/04/movies/wendell-burton-dead-starred-in-ste rile-cuckoo.html Scott MoPo List Owner Visit the MoPo Mailing List Web Site at www.filmfan.com ___________________________________________________________________ How to UNSUBSCRIBE from the MoPo Mailing List Send a message addressed to: lists...@listserv.american.edu In the BODY of your message type: SIGNOFF MOPO-L The author of this message is solely responsible for its content.
